New Year's Eve in Belgrade, Serbia: Where to go? What to see?



Planning on entering the year 2023 in Serbia? Here is a useful guide you can follow to have the best time in the capital of Serbia!


Option #1: Free manifestations and concerts


Every year City of Belgrade plans out a great program for all the citizens and tourists that decide to spend the night out. This year, there are two locations you can visit and have a greet free time, for free!


Concert at Belgrade Waterfront, on Sava Promenada will start on 31st of December 2022. at 20:30, and the entrance is free. There are three Serbian music stars performing: Željko Joksimović, Jelena Tomašević and Marko Louis. You can have a walk next to the river Sava, in newely build part of Belgrade. There are many beautiful buildings with modern architecture and beautiful view at New Belgrade, bridge over Ada (Most na Adi) and, of course, the new Belgrade Tower (Kula Beograd). At the end, you can watch spectacular fireworks over the Belgrade Tower!



Concert in front of National Assembly of Serbia (Narodna Skupština) is dedicated for the younger audience. The show will start around the same time as Belgrade Waterfront concert. There are many great artists performing here: Zera at 21:00, Gazda Paja at 21:45, Nucci and Voyage at 22:30 and Teodora Džehverović after midndight. If you like pop and rap music, this is the place to be!

Option #2: Belgrade nightclubs


Belgrade is famous for it's nightlife. There are many clubs that are well-known over the whole Balkan! Many of those clubs are located on the water. Laffayete Cabaret club is on of the best clubs in this region, with spectacular shows, food and drinks. It this located on the right bank of the river Sava, right under the Old Town. Money Club is right next to it, and on the other side of the river, there is well-known Freestyler club. Klub kafana tarapana is a club you can't go wrong with, same as with The Bank and Hype.



There are many more, and if you choose any of these, you will be guaranteed to have the best time of your life! The only thing to have in mind is that these clubs can be very, very expensive. You have to almost always pay for an expensive table reservation that always comes with drinks that you also have to pay for. The lines for entrance can be long as well.


If you're interested in a alternative option, there are many cool bars you can visit, for free! There are mainly located around Cetinjska street. Here you can find and old beer factory complex and inside the complex there are a lot of very unique and alternative cafes you can visit during the day. At night, these places become nightclubs. They are all located at the same place, so you can go from one bar to another, if you wan't to change the sourroundings. Most of these bars have their own unique and authentic look, relaxed and homely interior and friendly atmosphere that makes you fell welcomed. The best thing is that they are usually inexpensive! One the best bars here are Ljubimac, Zaokret, Spat., Dvorištance, Lift, Zgaženi golub and Polet. Nightclubs 20/44 and Pop Quart are also worth paying a visit!



Option #3: Daytime activities


If you're interested in more relaxed visit, or if you're traveling with kids, there are also many thing to see and try!


Christmas market is located every year at the Republic Square (Trg Rrepublike). Here you can go for a walk among the stands which offer food, drinks, candy and winter clothes. You can try Serbian "pljeskavica", buy "licidersko srce" to bring back home, or warm your hands with a pair of new handcrafted woven gloves!


While you're here, you can take a walk through Knez Mihailova street, which looks magical at this time of the year! There are many people shopping, walking, laughing and dancing here! You will most definitely come across brass bands playing traditional Serbian music. You can visit many coffee shops and restaurants along the way, and when you get to the end of the street, you can talk a walk in Kalemegdan park and visit the Belgrade fortress.


If you're into classical music, you can visit Kolarčeva Zadužbina where you can listen to a Queen's Six, Vasil Hadžimanov, Matija Dedić and Bisera Veletanlić concert on 31st of December, starting at 16:00.




Feeling hungry? Visit the old Skadarlija, where you can try delicious Serbian food in the authentic atmosphere. You can bring your friends and listen to live music and bands playing!


If you want to take your children somewhere exciting, you can visit the Winter Village in Ušće park. Here you can go ice skating (as well as in Tašmajdan park and Ada Ciganlija) and listen to concerts in front of Museum of contemporary art. There will be many artists performing: Vlatko Stefanovski, Nikola Pejaković, Kanda, Kodža i Nebojša. There will also be concerts at Dom Omladine and a big Winter Village at Belgrade Waterfront.


All of this program will be available from 15th of December until 15th of January.


Something for everyone!


Fact is that you won't have much time to visit all of the thing Belgrade can offer! Plan your time well and prepare for the most amazing time of your life!
